Project Description

Apostle Islands Sea Kayaking

WATER MEETS LAND AND SKY

About this Trip

Wisconsin and Lake Superior meet on the state’s northern end. Towns like Ashland, Bayfield, and Cornucopia dot the landscape there. A prominent feature of this area is the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, a collection of islands rich in geology and history. There is no better way to explore the Apostle Islands than from the seat of your own sea kayak. A Camp Nicolet tradition since the 1990s, this trip is professionally guided by Lost Creek Adventures of Cornucopia, Wisconsin who provides single and tandem kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, wetsuits, instruction, and a professional guide dedicated to the 5-day adventure. Itinerary dependent, paddle amongst sea caves, towering rock formations, and past historic lighthouses. Enjoy yummy trail food from the Lost Creek Adventures trail kitchen, swimming in Lake Superior, spectacular sunsets, and spot clues revealing turn-of-the-century Apostle Islands history! This trip is interesting on so many levels, and offers a fantastic paddling experience at this locally sought-after destination. Highly recommended for participants interested in the Voyageurs Wilderness Canoe trip.
